Blossom Season at Rayner's Orchard

Tue 1st August  until Sat 30th September , Tours run from 9am to 4pm seven days a week all year round (except Christmas Day)

During the month's of August and September, the Rayner's Orchard farm changes from a barren looking farm with lots of bare dormant stone fruit trees to an eruption of colour as the peach, nectarine, apricot and plum trees slowly open their buds and burst into different shades of pink and white flowers. This time of year, the farm is a photographer's paradise, creating hundreds of opportunities for the budding happy snapper to take some beautiful memories of a visit to the orchard. Peak times to experience the blossom at its best are from mid August to mid September. All visitors that take a Fruit Tasting Tour during Peak Blossom Season get a complimentary tour through the blossom trees.

Open Garden and Garden Train Display

Our Garden Train Display will be open to coincide with peak flowering of the Spring Bulbs. The Dirty Gran Fondo Cycling Event

Held through the Bunyip State Park, the ride sets off from Gembrook on a journey of climbs, descents and feed zones! The course has 2 distance options – 70km and 40km. This is the last Dirty Gran Fondo at our Gembrook course. We aim for this day to be a celebration of this event series by bringing you more entertainment than you have ever seen before, both at the event venue and also on course. Continue to Emerald station, doubled headed with the Climax and NA locomotive and return to Belgrave.

Come and learn why the month of September is the most critical for watering. Discussing what to do to prepare for effective bud set and quality fruit, not just this season but also for the next, and also learn about the importance of swales. We will cover the basics of variety and rootstock selection to suit your home conditions, as well as basic grafting, and natural pest management for fruit trees. Presented by Pete the Permie. Pete is a full time Permaculturist with over 1000 varieties of fruit trees in fully netted enclosures. He has been teaching permaculture for over 15 years and is a highly enthusiastic orchardist.
